Description
Blackburn with Darwen is a distinctive, welcoming and vibrant borough with a strong identity and a genuine buzz about the place. We are a can-do Council, proud of the impact we make for our residents, businesses and visitors. As a pro-growth authority, we’re investing in employment, housing and our town centres, with major developments underway in Blackburn and Darwen.
We’re at the heart of the new Lancashire Combined County Authority and see real opportunity in the cyber and advanced manufacturing sectors. Our proud making heritage and entrepreneurial spirit continue to drive prosperity — and we’re committed to ensuring local people benefit. As Strategic Director of Finance and Resources, you will bring together the core enabling functions that empower us to deliver our ambitions, encompassing finance, legal, governance, corporate property and procurement.
Your strategic leadership will be at the heart of ensuring our council continues to be well run, maximising the opportunities available to us, whilst managing risk appropriately. A key member of our leadership team, you will benefit from strong corporate support from colleagues committed to delivering better outcomes.
We are an agile organisation, where officers, working with Members, partners and stakeholders, have a great opportunity to make an impact and act upon their professional instincts. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone already operating as a S.151 Officer, or ready to make that first step, where you will embrace the values that define us: Trust, Respect, Ambition, Collaboration and Kindness.
